What is myositis clinical trials consortium (MCTC)?
MCTC is a collaborative international alliance dedicated to facilitating, coordinating, and conducting clinical trials and related supportive clinical research in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM).
This partnership works to advance the discovery of effective treatments for autoimmune myositis by integrating a diverse group of clinical investigators, researchers, medical centers, research staff, and other key stakeholders.
MCTC focus on various subtype of myositis, including polymyositis (PM), immune necrotizing myopathy (IMNM), dermatomyositis (DM), amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM), anti-synthetase syndrome (ASS), juvenile myositis, cancer-associated autoimmune myositis, connective-tissue disease associated myositis, and inclusion body myositis (IBM).

We’re excited to share that MCTC has received new support from Nori’s Fight, further empowering our mission to improve the lives of people with myositis. This support strengthens our efforts to close critical gaps in physician expertise and enhance patient recruitment—two major challenges in advancing clinical trials with innovative and effective treatments.
Our mission
Facilitate clinical trial planning, including study feasibility and site selection.
Offer junior investigators/centers comprehensive training in study protocol, disease classification and assessment, and outcome measures to establish the readiness for further myositis clinical trials and research.
Develop a multi-center prospective observational myositis registry with data collection at individual centers for future myositis clinical trials and related research.
Provide preliminary analysis, feasibility assessments, collaboration and grant support for participating investigators.
Establish collaborative clinical trials and related studies among various participating centers, such as to develop and validate novel classification criteria and outcome measures for future myositis clinical trials.
Generate interdisciplinary discussion and consensus on standards for myositis clinical trial design, protocols, guidelines, ethics, and outcome measures.
